While Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas is vowing to liberate lands by negotiation, then his counter part Israeli Prime Minister (PM) is telling Jewish settlers that they could stay permanently in the occupied Palestinian lands. Netanyahu pledged he never evicts Jews from the West Bank. Interviewing on Israeli public radio, he told ‘The 2005 Removal of Jewish Settlers’ from the Gaza Strip was a mistake, since it could not made peace or security in the region. He said “The territory has become a base for the pro-Iranian Hamas movement” he said, “and we will never make the same mistake again.”
The administration of then PM Ariel Sharon in 2005 was unilaterally removed Jewish settlements from prejudiced Gaza region; additionally, some from Northern West Bank settlements. The move was aimed at ending more than 38-year Israel’s military presence at the Gaza Strip. However, Sharon promised further removals though he was debilitated by a major stroke.
