Shoe Throws Once More Time by Journalist
Now shoe throwing is the symbol of protest against political leaders. A Sikh journalist of India Jarnail Singh, from Dainik Jagran who threw a shoe at Home Minister P. Chidambaram during a briefing at the Congress office in New Delhi on Tuesday. And the shoe misses once more time to hit the body. On last December, a journalist of Iraq threw a shoe at George Bush which was also missed. And last year that was the hottest news for the whole world.
This journalist become emotional throughout the conference of Congress headed by P Chidambaram when he did not get reasonable answer from Chidambaram for his answers related to Sikh riots and clean chit to Jagdish Tytler by CBI. While replying to Jarnail Singh’s question Chidambaram said,
“Neither the home ministry nor any other ministry put any pressure on the CBI. The CBI has only given a report. It is for the court to decide whether to accept the report or not.”
After his comment he requested the journalist not to argue when he persisted in asking supplementary questions. Then suddenly a shoe was flung in the direction of Chidambaram which was thrown by Jarnail Singh and Chidambaram moved her head from the shoe’s direction. Later he smiled and asked polices to take him out of the room.
This journalist was then taken in to custody and interrogated for one hour by police and IB officials and within a few times got released.
Speaking to NDTV news channel, Singh said, “It is my protest against the clean chit to [Jagdish] Tytler.” Later on he said: “What I did was unfortunate, but I am not apologetic.”
This issue has caused huge embracement to Congress government and shows growing anger of Sikh community against Congress. So, Congress did not want to make this issue a big issue; therefore, they decided to not register any case against Jainail Singh.
