For Those Who Say Obama has Accomplished Nothing
I would like to once and for all put to rest the notion that President Barak Obama has accomplished nothing during his first year in office. I get so tired of reading that on blogs and websites, and even in news stories. Here is proof, and as they say, the proof is in the pudding. Below is a list of the things that Obama has done since being in office. What do you have to say now, conservative pundits?
In January, when Obama took the oath of office, our financial system was on the verge of collapse, all economic indicators were headed south, and we were losing somewhere between 600 thousand to a million jobs every month. Presently, our financial system is stable, most economic indicators are starting to go up and job losses have been dramatically reduced.
Other accomplishments:
Stem cell order reversed.
SCHIP passed and signed into law
Ledbetter bill passed and signed into law.
Major Green energy initiatives started.
EPA rules revised to address Climate Change.
Executive order signed to protect large areas from drilling.
Car emission standards revised.
National Science Foundation funding boosted.
Stimulus bill passed, and already helping revive the economy.
Financial system reform plan implemented.
Regulations on the way.
Gitmo closing ordered.
T0rture banned.
Iraq troop withdrawal ordered.
Afghanistan approach revised.
Direct negotiations with Iran on the way.
Negotiations with Syria in progress.
Disarmament talks with Russia re-started.
Bush-era Europe missile shield replaced
Energy/Climate Change legislation passed the House, soon to be passed by Senate.
Student loan market overhaul approved by U.S. House
Healthcare legislation on the way.

Accomplishments do not carry the phrase “on the way” “in progress” or “ordered [but not carried out].”
You’re not even trying.
PS: I’m not a GOP hack, I voted for the guy. I just think you’re being way too generous.
Ok, George, thanks for correcting my spelling of Barack. But look here. Ordered and in progress are at least a point in the right direction. Crap! It’s not even been one year, and that list is long.
And what do you mean, “I’m not even trying?” I consider that a personal insult because I work my butt off on this blog and try to make good posts and also work on traffic.
I wish you’d come back and explain what you meant by your statement.
I will have to agree with George, admin guy. I am not seeing much of a turn around economically. It may be stable, but it is not in a good place at all.
Its too soon to tell if anything good or bad will happen anytime soon. The only thing I see right now that is worrying me is the Economy being stuck like it currently is. I Really wish they had thought out the corporate welfare bit a good bit more. Right now it looks like they are just forcing the company’s to “Punish” the Executives so they can look like they are doing something.
I hope the issues are addressed soon, right now it really seems like many of the politicians(Both sides.) are working to keep their seat, instead of actually addressing the issues needed.

I must say I agree with you to a point, I guess I am just trying to be optimistic. We needed a great leader so badly when Obama was running, and really put a lot of hope behind him. I want to keep that alive. But as you said, time will tell.

Thank you, whoever is writing this blog. I have searched the Net for a list of Obama’s acomplishments to take to Thanksgiving dinner at my (really) conservative relatives’ house, and yours was the only one I could find. Everyone else is criticizing him. Part of the reason he can’t get more done is that conservatives in Congress and lobbyists keep getting in the way. If he didn’t have to compromise on the health care bill with congressmen backing insurance companies who want to keep charging us up the ying-yang for health coverage, he’d have the damn thing passed by now — with a public option, which is the only way to go. My opinion is that Obama is truly on the side of the people, and that’s why he’s getting so much resistance. Being on the side of the people doesn’t benefit corportations and the others in control …

I am trying not to get angry at all the ignorance of the American people. I try to understand how you can hold a man up to such and impossible standard. The criticisms keep flying about with so many ill informed people jumping on that band wagon. But this is nothing new. As a black american we must always do three times better before our accomplishments will be acknowledged.
Wake up – dumb americans. If we had McCain as president, do you think you would have been this critical? Of course not. We had one of the most unpopular president of all time lead for eight years. A president who didn’t give a damn for the American people. See where it got us.
Now you want the current president to waive his magic wand and make it all better. STOP being a whiny baby and do your part to make this country strong.
It starts with supporting the president and what he wants to do for the country. If you have nothing supportive to say or do, then shut your mouth and give the man a chance to do his job.
And please black people, get a clue and rise above the obvious propaganda that is constantly thrown out designed to shape your thinking, designed to make you self hate. Stop the MADNESS and grow, learn and support the effort to rise above your “station” in life. Don’t let them fool you with there lies.
Be strong and courageous! Stand up and fight.
