I just about threw up my breakfast when I read this post at Thought Possible and watched the interview of Rush Limbaugh by William Shatner. It eerily made me instantly compare Rush Limbaugh to Adolf Hitler. After all, Rush believes that poor people have no right to health care if they can’t afford it. What’s next Rush, gassing the poor to get them out of the way? They are pesky little critters, after all. Kind of like the Jews back in the day. Or maybe Rush is more similar to a skinhead, who think races other than whites are second rate.
Unbelievable. But here’s something almost as scary and preposterous. This article from Salon.Com explains in no uncertain terms how president Obama seems to have finagled the health care bill that he actually wanted in the first place out of Congress; a bill that does not include a public option and also does not include expansion of Medicare. Also, the bill as presented right now truly only benefits the government, the health insurance industry and the pharmaceutical companies. I am very disappointed if this is true, for I have been a cheerleader for Obama all along. I hate to think he really is no different from any other politician and our future will just be more of the same, more bills to pay, more war, and no one to trust in the driver’s seat.
THEN, I read this article from the Huffington Post about the protesters of climate change in Copenhagen being beaten back and tear-gassed by Dutch police. I was around when the same thing happened at Kent State University, but back then several students were killed. I hope to God that doesn’t happen with this protest. However, the word at this point is that two days before the Climate Change Summit is to end, there has been no resolution. I hope it fails like the house of cards it appears to be, only interested in furthering the goals of big countries and big business.
Bottom line in my mind right now is that our government needs governing.
I think I’ll go throw up now.
