Finally! We are almost in a new decade and I for one am very glad. If America ever needed a fresh slate it is now. If only people could actually put their differences aside and begin anew, what a wonderful world it would be.
But since we know that is not going to happen, and Republicans, Democrats, Tea Partiers, Patriots, Libertarians, and all other stripes of political animal, will continue to tow the party line, the only way to beat them is to join them!
I fervently hope you will make your new year’s resolution to become more involved in the political process. Maybe we are only one voice individually, but put all those small voices together and you create one big sound. I even saw where the Libertarain party is paying $2000 with training for people to run for office! The only thing I don’t get is how we are supposed to find a party that believes exactly like we do. I am convinced that you cannot make much of a difference if you don’t get on a party bandwagon, that’s unfortunately just how our system works. But what if the party you are checking out has some beliefs and principles that don’t align with your personal viewpoint?
This is certainly a quandary. I for one have mixed beliefs and values. I agree with some conservative issues, for instance, I am pro-life. But there are a lot of things conservatives belief in that I don’t agree with. So what should we do?
Yes, I am asking you!
The closest I can come to my beliefs is the Libertarian party, next to the Democratic party, which we all know has grown too big for its britches. The only recourse I see is to join the Libertarian party and try to soften their conservative side. Is that an option?
I hope you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve celebration and I look forward to your input on this issue of party affiliation.
