Third, Powerful Political Party the Only Answer

I have come to the conclusion that the only true answer to the woes in America is the rise of a third, alternative political party. It is evident, with the fiasco that was the health care reform debate in Congress, and the all-around ineffectiveness of government, that the Democratic and Republican Party have been in power for much too long.

Our government ceased years ago to be about the people. Government has become just one more corporate shill, friend and colleague to big business and lobbyists. The only way we are going to have a chance of changing this situation is to have an alternative to these two super power political parties when it comes time to vote. And the only way we are going to make that happen is to BECOME INVOLVED!

The biggest enemy of the people during times such as these is not the government, it is APATHY. Webster’s Dictionary defines apathy as “lack of feeling or emotion, lack of concern.” The bad part is that when we look at the giant beast that government has become we feel small and helpless, unable to do anything that will make a difference. So it is easy to become apathetic. I read on a blog yesterday where a person said that they voted for Obama but were now so disgusted with him, they turn the TV channel when he makes a speech. Wow, that’s some heavy duty action, dude! Instead of burying our heads in the sand with this sort of reaction, why not became proactive and join a party with an alternative viewpoint? If enough people would take action such as this, the Democrats and Republicans would eventually lose power. It will take time, however. Still, it is worth it. This is the future of our children and grandchildren we are talking about!

Some are silly as hell, way out there or too extreme, but there are quite a few alternative political parties that are making headway in the American landscape and are on the right track, in my estimation.

Just to prove I put my money where my mouth is, as soon as I finish this post I will be checking out what alternative political parties there are in my county. If you do the same, and we become actively involved, just think of the ripples we can create in the river that is the political machine created by the Democrats and Republicans. Before long we could cause a riptide and replace the old guard once and for all!
