Yep, you read that right, TruthDaily.com is holding a contest! This is a very simple contest and anyone can enter.
All you need to do is leave a comment, which becomes your entry. The contest begins today, October 5, 2009, right now, and ends Friday, October 9, 2009 at midnight. The winner will receive $10 through Paypal. The winner will be announced on Sunday, October 11th, by noon, CST.
Here are some rules:
1. Your comment cannot be spam. You must say something of interest to a political audience. You don’t have to be up to date on political news, but you do have to have an opinion. Any topic is fair game, as long as it has to do with politics. That covers a wide spectrum.
2. Do not place links in your comment. That will be considered spam.
3. Only one comment, to be made to THIS post, per person.
4. Include your email address in your comment so that you can be contacted in case you win.
That’s it! Tell all your friends about this contest and get them to come and comment to THIS post.
The winner will be chosen at random. What you say in your comment has no affect on who wins. Once the deadline has been reached for comment entries, each comment will be numbered and placed in a hat. The comment number chosen will then be paid $10 to their Paypal account.
Pretty darn simple. Now, let the comments commence! Let’s see what YOU have to say about politics.
Politics are almost as exciting as war, and quite as dangerous. In war you can only be killed once, but in politics many times.
I have been thinking about our president this week. This comment has nothing to do with my support for him or lack of it, it is just a simple observation.
What was it like for him to be told ‘No’ last week when he asked to have the Olympics brought to Chicago? He is an incredibly charismatic man who, although his early life was full of struggle, I think many would say his adulthood has been fairly charmed.
I have to say that I never heard of him before his worldwind presidential campain, and I am guessing the same for many Americans. So for him to be so wildly popular and elected so handily, one must agree that his speech giving abilities are convincing and top notch.
Since his presidency began, he has gotten everything he asked for-healthcare aside, so far-and he was beloved by the Middle East last week at the UN.
So my question remains: What was it like for him to hear ‘No’ to a project so close to his heart?
hello sir, i am in
glad to know politics related contest
Thanks so much for the comments, but if you don’t enter your email address, either in the registration to comment or in your comment itself, I cannot contact you if you win.
Please make sure you leave your contact info with your comment.
joining this contest, I think that politic is different with this. in this contest, our statuses are same. while in politic, the richest is the greatest. the richest is the winner. at least, on a developed country.
Does anyone on here feel that taxes (and government in general) in this country are too big? Or do you, instead, think it’s too small and would like to see bigger government?
Well I guess some people think that all politicians are liars, but I think that they rather have to be really careful with what they say about who and what and that that makes it look a bit like a lie.
Had to be said.

very nice blog on politics , If you can add indian politics I can share among my thousands of friends on my social networks
According to me the word politics can be defined into 2 words, Politics > Poly – Tics
Poly means “many”
and
tics means “blood-sucking parasites”
The recent issue of some facebook users going aganist US president Obama with a Obama Assassination Poll makes me think that we need to put a limit to social networking.
Having aTraditional christmas, is back in style thank goodness.
The facebook incident plotting the assassination of the President should not affect those who use it as a tool to keep in touch or promote their works and business.
Those responsible for the FB account should receive some form of punishment from the government because they have enacted a plot to get followers to their cause.
Regular moderation of the social networking sites for criminal offenses could stop this from becoming the norm.
Hi,
What a lovely idea.. I think politics is such a complicated thing and yet so simple. Decisions made by a bunch of people affect a larger bunch of people. However, your contest has made me think about the state of politics in every country, including mine, India. Does one trust politicians?? Should one?? Is there even an answer to this one?? Dunno..
Anyways, my email is prerna.malik@hotmail.com and here’s hoping that I win:-)
It is an exciting prospect that low income families that do not qualify for Medicaid can get free public healthcare. I’m crossing my fingers that we are afforded such benefits (actually, rights).
It seems politics invades almost every conversation, but there is a time and place for everything. I myself have little faith in our political leaders or the government in general. There needs to be more emphasis on giving back to the people instead of taking from them. Prices on everything is going up yet wages and pay is not. How are we suppossed to live and support our families? Then there are other important national issues like homelessness, poverty and violence. What are our leaders going to do about all that?
I wonder the same thing as Rhonda. No one ever heard of Obama before he became a candidate for president (except those who elected him to the Senate, maybe). I have a feeling he didn’t like losing the Olympic games, especially after so much effort was put into it.
As for that effort, I am torn. I read an opinion column this week that pretty much bashed Michelle Obama and Oprah for wasting the taxpayers money while they jetted off to Europe to schmooze the Olympic committees. Then to be told no on top of that. I agree that they went overboard on this.
But on the debate of whether Obama should have gone at all, since he has this health care “crisis” on his hands—I don’t see a problem with it from that perspective. It’s not really a “crisis” imo–it has been around for years and was still here when he returned. I’m sure Obama works hard and deserves a break to do something he is passionate about.
My opinion about politics is so simple. Politic nowadays is a business…There is too many money-game behind the scene. So the government nowadays is just like a business company….Their are not purely politicans. Their are choosen because money….
With the condition, do you think a country management can running well? The asnwer, is no….
I had my doubts about Obama as a president when he first announced his candidacy. But I should say that he has somewhat proven me wrong. But then again, I was never much of a republican supporter.
I like the fact that Obama treats every type of person and every country (Even rival countries) with respect and tolerance. Something former American presidents aren’t known for!
Thanks everyone for all the great comments. Be sure and tell your contacts online that they should come comment about their political opinion between now and midnight tomorrow night. I will be announcing the winner of $10 paypal dollars on noon Sunday!
In regard to those who have mentioned me blogging about Indian politics, I did some research and was going to make a post, but then I realized that I can not fairly report on something I do not understand or am not educated in. There are better blogs for that.
However, if you will bring me links to great Indian political blogs I will add them to my blogroll. Fair enough?
My thoughts on politics are that the politicians have lost sight of the Constitution. All of them! Many things Congress tries to legislate should fall under the umbrella of states’ rights. They use strong arm tactics to force states to do things like lower their drinking age to things like federal highway money. Just haul the taxes and divvy them up fairly and let states do their own legislating.
All I can truthfully say is that politics waved its magic wand and put myself and thousands of others out of work.
At present, I only see this picking up slightly as Christmas is approaching, and companies need a larger workforce, only to spit us out again as the season ends.
If you are not unemployed and making decent money, keep your job. You don’t want to be out there thinking something better will come along, it won’t. You will be paid much less for what you’re doing right now, and you’ll do the job of five people because the other four were let go. The other four are out here looking beside me.
Thanks for letting me rant, I appreciate it….Bobbie
